The study of the kinetics of dissolution of the gold electrodes in the mixed thiocyanate -thiosulfate solution

In this paper, experimental studies aimed at improving the electrochemical technology to extract gold from the individual electrical contacts containing a small amount of the precious metal, to give a valuable chemicals. As solvents were used potassium thiocyanate, sodium thiosulfate in various combinations were used as the oxidant ferric ions. The studies were conducted on the chemical samples containing no more than 20% gold, accompanying metals are copper, nickel and zinc. The experimentally proved the effectiveness of the mixed-thiocyanate thiosulfate complexes by dissolving gold from recycled materials. It should also be noted that these complexes are mixed with cheaper reagents, and their non-toxicity allows to provide a safe working environment.
