Study of leather armour and helmet from the age of the Mongol empire in the contemporary Mongolian studies historiography

The article investigates the historical and ethnographic studies concerning an armature complex of Mongolian empire period in Mongolian. Author gives a brief analysis of Mongolian studies on the problem. According to some foreign scholars, European soldiers borrowed certain types of offensive and defensive weapons of Mongols after clashes with them. It precipitated the process of improving the knight's armor and helmets. Mongols primarily had producted such weapon as bows and arrows, sabres and armors, which were convenient for use for chavelry. However, they paid attention to the construction of facilities for everyday needs, such as carts for yurts, which were harnessed in 3-4 or more bulls
