The article studies the characteristics of physical absorbers for purification of gases from acidic components. To purify gases from sulfur compounds and carbon dioxide, physical processes are used, the mechanism of action of which is based on the selective solubility of acidic components in various liquid absorbers. The main characteristics of the effectiveness of physical absorbers are their selectivity and absorption capacity. The higher the value of the selectivity factor, the wider the use of the physical absorber, i.e. the possibility of its use for cleaning gases with a low concentration of acidic components.
