Study of the population density of the Volgograd region using GIS technologies

In this paper, population density calculations were carried out in the Volgograd region by settlements and municipalities. Two population density maps of the Volgograd Region in 2020 were constructed using statistical data of the All-Russian Population Census of the Volgograd Region for 2020. The cartographies are constructed using two methods: mathematical and cartographic modeling and interpolation. The analysis of the distribution of population density in the Volgograd region was also carried out and the most characteristic zones-the distribution areas of this indicator were identified.
