The article considers the essence of consumer behavior, as well as the factors that determine it. Typologies of consumers for different author's reasons are presented. A marketing model of consumer behavior is described, it is justified that in order to carry out a competent strategy for attracting consumers, it is necessary to study the mechanisms of their behavior and the possibilities of using these mechanisms.
