The study of the causes of the destruction of the archaeological ceramics due to unskilled restoration

This study is devoted to the problem of identifying relationships in the system «monument - restoration interventions» on the example of archaeological ceramics. Analysis of restoration methods and materials, which are used at different times, allows: 1) to consider in detail the processes of changing the authenticity of the monument occurring as a result of the destruction of materials introduced into its structure and not important to it; 2) identify the main factors affecting the ageing processes of restoration materials on monuments already restored with their help. This knowledge will allow to develop measures to reduce their negative impact on the monument; 3) identify the most effective and sparing techniques that have successfully passed the time test. All this in the future will allow to properly use existing methods, as well as will contribute to the development of optimal restoration technologies, ensuring long-term safety of the monument and its authentic properties.
