The article provides the results of research into the current status of special-purpose flame-retardant wear production. Irrespective of a person’s major professional activity and the amount of risk it involves, he / she feels the pressure of a vast number of potentially hazardous external factors, such as the meteorological factor, mechanic factor, chemical factor, physical factor, and biological factor, with special-purpose wear expected to protect and preserve human health and life. A wide variety of small- and large-scale special-purpose wear producers have emerged recently. However, their product does not always meet the accepted safety and quality standards.
