Research of the population resettlement trend in the Rostov region

The article presents the results of a study of population trends in the Rostov region. Based on the analysis of statistical data, demographic indicators and spatial distribution of the population, key patterns of migration processes and urbanization in the region have been identified. Special attention is paid to the dynamics of the urban and rural population, changes in the density of settlement of territories, as well as factors affecting the settlement processes (economic, social, natural and geographical). The paper uses methods of geoinformation analysis to visualize spatial changes in the settlement structure. The results of the study make it possible to predict the further development of the settlement system in the region and can be used in the development of strategies for territorial planning and socio-economic development of the Rostov region.
