This paper studies the thermal characteristics of a solid insulated cylindrical heat accumulator and shows the main directions of scientific and technical work in the field of heat storage. A statement and a generalized method for numerically solving the propagation of temperature fluctuations from the inner surface of a solid insulated cylindrical heat accumulator are presented. Calculations and analysis of the dependences of the average mass temperature, heat flux, their amplitudes and phases depending on the period of oscillations, and the relative inner radius are carried out. The definitions of the accumulator and the heat stabilizer and the coefficient of heat accumulation are given. A regime study of heat accumulators was carried out and conclusions were drawn about the area of their effective operation. The characteristic features of heat transfer in solid insulated cylindrical heat accumulators are noted.
