A study of the typology of rural settlements by population in the Volgograd region using GIS technologies

During the research, the collection and processing of initial data for the construction of a cartographic scheme was carried out. Thanks to the statistical data provided by the All-Russian Population Census of the Volgograd region, a database was compiled, the population indicator for each rural settlement was analyzed, thus, depending on the population, all rural settlements were assigned a type according to classification. Based on the data, a cartographic diagram of the typology of rural settlements according to the population of the Volgograd region was compiled using the cartodiagram method. The analysis of the composition of each district according to this typology is carried out.
