The phenomenon of four-wave mixing arising in optical networks with spectral densification of channels is investigated. A theoretical study of the occurrence of two-frequency and three-frequency spectral components was made. The results of the distribution of combination frequencies over the spectrum are given. The influence of combination frequencies on the quality of the signal transmission in the FOTS-WDM section is considered. The results of the optical channel study showed that the presence of three-frequency components and their entry into the working band leads to a significant deterioration in the signal-to-noise ratio.
