This article discusses the possibility of modifying magnesium hydroxide with a phosphor-boron-containing inhibitor. The effect of modified magnesium hydroxide on the flame retardant properties of PVC-based compositions was investigated. It has been established that the products of modification of magnesium hydroxide with a phosphor-boron-containing oligomer are an effective flame retardant for PVC-based polymer composites. The use of modified magnesium hydroxide will allow to modernize the formulations of non-combustible PVC plastic compounds with an increase in their technological and fireproof properties.
