Investigation of the effect of low temperatures on the reliability of motor vehicles

Бесплатный доступ

The article is devoted to the study of the influence of low temperatures on the reliability of motor vehicles. The article presents the results of the analysis of the number of failures by month of the year, which revealed that the winter months have the largest number of failures. The graph of the dependence of the specific number of failures on the ambient temperature confirms that as the temperature decreases, the number of failures increases. In addition, the dependence of the starting engine wear and the delay time of oil supply to the bearings on the ambient air temperature is given. These results are of practical importance for optimizing car maintenance and improving their reliability under extreme climatic conditions. The findings can be used in the development of new technologies and designs that improve the operation of vehicles at low temperatures.
