Research of the influence of the sphere of higher education on the output of branches of the national economy

The relevance of the study is due to the need to determine the role of higher education in the training of personnel for sectors of the national economy. General approaches to this issue, formed within the framework of the theory of innovative development and the knowledge economy, the theory of human capital need empirical substantiation in modern conditions. The purpose of the article is to determine the direction of the influence of the qualifications of the employed on the output parameters of the national economy. Correlation analysis is used as a research method. The information base of the study includes indicators of output, value added, income of employees, the number of people employed in sectors of the national economy by education levels. The results of the study show the presence of sectoral differentiation of the relationship between the parameters of the output of the national economy and the quantitative parameters of human capital. This differentiation is caused by different labor characteristics that require the involvement of highly qualified workers. This fact confirms the existence of a significant positive correlation between the output parameters of these industries and the number of employees with higher education, for the rest of the groups, the relationship is either not significant or inverse. The scientific novelty of the presented research lies in the substantiation of methodological approaches to considering the influence of the qualification characteristics of employees on the output of branches of the national economy. The practical significance of the results obtained lies in the formation of recommendations for considering the characteristics of labor that require the involvement of highly qualified workers in models for assessing the dependence of economic growth on the qualification characteristics of human capital.
