Energy conservation in agriculture is a subject of discussion among many scientists who solve their tasks by developing new tools and technologies designed to reduce energy consumption. At the same time, it is important to keep in mind that the goal of energy saving is to produce high-quality, improved agricultural products with minimal energy costs. Various methods and devices are used to achieve this goal. Among them, installations based on the use of non-traditional and renewable energy sources are particularly popular. The paper presents a study concerning the possibility of using a device for heating water intended for drinking, which works due to the heat produced by cattle. For proper and rational use of this energy source must take into account many factors such as heat loss through the building envelope livestock facilities, the air speed inside and outside, content in the air of dust particles and microorganisms, the outside air temperature. The study of the last indicator makes it possible to correctly estimate the duration of the operation of the device for heating water, which works by using the heat produced by animals.
