Research on the demand for health tourism services

Health tourism is one of the most important components not only of the economy, but also of the social sphere. Taking care of the health of citizens is a necessary and obligatory function of the State. The article discusses the theoretical and practical aspects of the organization and demand for health tourism services by the population of Arkhangelsk. The purpose of the work is to identify the demand for health tourism services by the population of Arkhangelsk. In the work, along with the normative and legal definition of the concept of tourism, the author's understanding of the content of the term wellness tourism is given, statistical data on the activities of sanatorium and resort organizations of the Arkhangelsk region, diseases of the population by main classes of diseases are shown, the results of the SWOT analysis of wellness tourism are presented, as well as the general characteristics of the resources of wellness tourism in the Arkhangelsk region, the results of a survey of the population are demonstrated, conducted to identify awareness and demand for health tourism services. According to the results of the diagnosis, problematic issues related to the use of wellness services by residents of Arkhangelsk were identified.
