Soil research in the chernozem zone of Russia famous scientists

The article presents material on conducting soil research in the chernozem zone of Russia, which was carried out by such scientists as V.V. Dokuchaev and his followers P.A. Kostychev and P.G. Aderichin. Studying soils, Vasily Vasilyevich Dokuchaev compiled a soil map of the chernozem strip, and Pavel Andreevich Kostychev revealed the biological mechanism of chernozem formation and gave an agronomic assessment of chernozems. Being a major specialist in the field of genesis, classification, geography, chemistry and agrochemistry of chernozems, Prokopy Gavrilovich Aderichin developed a modern classification of chernozems, studied the nature, composition of the soil absorbing complex and the absorption capacity of chernozems.
