Investigations of the Levallois problem in Transbaikal and Central Asia

The analysis of the development of investigated Transbaikal Stone Age archeologists ' points of view on one of the Palaeolithic key problems - the problem of Levallois - is given in the article. The Levallois problem for Transbaikal territory has been started to consider by scholars in the second half of the XXth century. While accumulating archaeological data, the territory of Central Asia has been regarded to be one of the priority directions of the Levallois technique penetrating to Transbaikal. One of the main trends in researching this problem is the characterization of the Levallois role in the forming of Transbaikal Upper Palaeolithic cultures.
