Need of further work on modernization of sealing unit of drill nit bearing and development of new research techniques is proved. The new design of the stand for test the sealing unit as a part of roller-cone bit full bearing, the details which are subjected to test, the principle of operation of the stand and the analysis of test data is described. Graphics characterizing work of various designs of the incapsulating units are presented and analyzed. The design and the principle of action of the test stand allowing to study influence of separate factors on intensity of rubber wear is shown. The methods of assessment the residual resource of roller cone drill bit, based on results of bench tests of various designs of sealing units is described.
