On the origins of "distant import" in the Preurals region

The paper focuses on the problems of "distant import" to the Pre-Urals region from VII to the beginning of IX centuries AD on materials of Bartym treasures. Byzantine, Sasanian, Khorezm vessels and coins, as well as Byzantine clasp of the necklace were found in different years in the vicinity of Bartym Village situated in Berezovsky District, Perm Region. The date of receipt is proved to be between VII and the beginning of IX century. The author found that the items came from the Central Asia. The route had been laid through Bashkiriya, to the river Sylva basin, further to the north to the Pechora river basin. Prestigious items of "distant import» played an important role in acceleration of social and economic development of the region in the Middle Ages.
