The origins of Russian literary fairy tale

The article is devoted to the question of the origins of the literary fairy tale in the Russian literature. The succession of the literary fairy tale in relation to the folklore is considered. At the same time, its characteristics as of a special literary genre is emphasized. Special attention is paid to the fairy tales of Catherine II - “The Tale of Tsarevich Сhlorine” and “The Tale of Tsarevich Fevee” - as the first literary fairy tales in the history of the verbal art in Russia.
