Historical evolution of public attitudes towards disabled person

The article discusses the evolution and development of public attitudes towards people with disabilities, presents a line of Genesis from ancient times to the present. Special attention is paid to the research of M. Foucault about the historical types of people with disabilities. The results of the study concluded that, when the process of humanization of society, social rehabilitation and integration of people with disabilities in this environment, socio-philosophical aspect of the problem is of particular relevance. People with disabilities already perceived as active and even the main solver their problems with the help and cooperation of others. Humane treatment of this category of people requires, above all, worthy, equal relations to them. It includes interest in their fate, optimistic faith in the ability in the communication based on trust, in the absence of direct coercion, priority, positive stimulation, tolerance to faults. It also implies respect for the right to free choice, a mistake, own point of view. Modern society recognizes the value of a person with disabilities, as a person, his rights to freedom, happiness, protection and the protection of life, health, creation of conditions for the development of man, his creativity, tendencies, abilities, assisting him in the living-determination, integration into society, full self-realization.
