The article examines the role of history as a discipline in the educational process of the Far Eastern Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, summarizes the main research directions of the institute's faculty and staff in the field of history. The author concludes that history plays an important role in the educational process of the institute, contributing to the patriotic and general cultural development of its students.
