In general, the historical aspects of the construction and operation of the military-judicial system of the USSR are reflected in the scientific works "The Judicial Power of Russia" under the general editorship of V.M. Lebedev, O.E. Kutafin and V.M. Semigina and "The History of Military Courts of Russia" edited by N.A. Petukhova. However, the study period in these works paid little attention. Moreover, none of the printed publications reflects the activities of the Military Tribunal of the Leningrad Front itself during the Great Patriotic War. In many ways, this article is the first in its kind since 1945 to the present time, a purely historical study - a reflection of the activities not only of the Military Tribunal of the Leningrad Front in the period of the war, but also of the whole military-judicial system of the USSR. The main sources of the article are documentary materials kept by the Central Archive of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation (here in after referred to as the CAMD Archive) and the archive of the Leningrad District Military Court (here in after - the Archive of the LDMC). There will also be references to the works of the above-mentioned scientists and the Gazette of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.
