Historical researches by zemstvo statisticians in samara province in the second half of XIX - the beginning of XX century

The article is devoted to the research work of the zemstvo statisticians which was held in Samara province in the second half of XIX - early XX centuries. Particular attention is given to their researches on history of the region and the importance of these studies for the development of regional studies, and for the formation of historical and cultural space in the region.
