Historical regional ethnography of Mordovia in the second half of the XX century

In this paper positive changes in the field of historical regional ethnography of Mordovia, which took place in the second half of the XX century, are analyzed. Such changes were caused by social and economical needs of the region and of the whole country. Special attention is paid to the concept of "historical regional ethnography" and its place in contemporary historical research.
