Historical education in the Russian Far East: stages of the centinery way

This article is a brief essay on major milestones of formation and 100 years of historical development of higher education in the oldest University of the Russian Far Eastern Federal University. The main outcome of the past is shown through a chain of events in the institutional development of higher historical education, academic historical science and biographies of teachers, graduates in a remote region of the country. Preparation of historians has been carried out at different stages of existence of FEFU: Orient Institute, State Far Eastern University, Vladivostok State Pedagogical Institute, Far Eastern State University and continues to evolve in the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU). Each stage contributed to the preparatory process of the historians of the specificity associated with a common destiny of Russian society. About 75 years from the 20th century were under the Soviet era. However educational process has been at a high standard due to teachers' personalities, strengthening knowledge and technical base, constant up skilling teaching staff and cooperation with the other universities and academic structures, despite the influence of revolutionary socio-economic and cultural platform for teaching history in high school. The last 25 years of the 20th century were the years of radical reforms, which resulted in extra historical education in FEFU proven to be highly controversial.
