The history of the antimensium of the Resurrection Cathedral of the village Starocherkasskaya (antimensium as a historical source).

A special kind of historical monuments are antimensia containing documentary records. These antimensia dated from pre-revolutionary times include important historical data recorded on their margins. These records can enrich modern knowledge about the history of certain events relating to the life of Russian Orthodoxy. The article describes the corporal dated the beginning of the 19th century and containing valuable information on the history of Orthodoxy in the South of Russia in the middle of the 19th century. The later records made on the margins of the antimensium testify to the life of the Russian Orthodox Church in the middle of the 20th century. In the described source the history of the Resurrection Cathedral of the village Starocherkassk of the Rostov region the capital of the Don Cossacks is expounded. The life of this Cathedral is closely connected with The Platovs as well as the tragic history of the parish of the village of Yanovo-Hrushevskaya (Janovskaya). The Kazan temple of this village gained contact with the Cossack cathedral of the village of Starocherkasskaya thanks to the corporal described above. In article there are some evidences of the tragic fate of many Orthodox churches during the anti-religious struggle in the Soviet state.
