The article deals with Russian and American peculiarity of national language consciousness, which is reflected in speech-cogitative activity. The author of the article analyses how the course of formation of the nation influences the organization of Russian and American anecdotes. It helps to reveal national conception of rendering comical sense in the anecdote: its peculiarity of structural organization, the main language means of rendering comical sense.
