History of icthyological researches in Sura river basin: review

Clause represents the review of the literature in which there is an information on fishes of a Sura River basin (inflow of the first order of the Volga River). On the basis of the analysis 4 periods of ichthyological researches in the given pool are conditionally allocated: 1) a preliminary stage [reception of the first data about ichthyofauna (the beginning of XVI century the end of XIX century)]; 2) a stage of passing researches (the beginning the middle of XX century); 3) systematic forwarding and stationary researches (stage of «Dushin», 1965 the beginning of 1980th); 4) the present stage (from the beginning of 1980th years on present time). It is shown, that Sura drew attention of researchers since XVI century, however the most intensive researches are characteristic for middle and end XX century and the beginnings of XXI centuries. At this time there were changes of the fish population, which are caused by loss of through passage species (Acipenser gueldenstaedtii, Huso huso, and others) in ichthyofauna and installation of some other species (Perccottus glenii, Anguilla anguilla, and others).
