The wrestling development history in the Krasnoyarsk region (1945-1991)

The object of the paper is the history of the development of wrestling in the Krasnoyarsk Region in 1945-1991, the goal is to study the history of the development of wrestling in the Krasnoyarsk Region during this period. The objectives are to trace the peculiarities of the development of wrestling in the post-war period. In the course of the study special research methods were used: logical and general scientific. Owing to them, the process of the formation and development of the Soviet system of wrestling was recreated in all the diversity of its structural and functional connections and dependencies in a specific period of time, the nature of its interaction with other subsystems of the state was substantiated, the patterns, content and specificity of the development of wrestling were identified, the degree of political, economic, social and other factors influence on this process was assessed. The paper provides a small source analysis, from which it is clear that there are very few sources on this issue. The main sources on the history of wrestling in the Krasnoyarsk Region are numerous publications by D.G. Mindi-ashvili: these are either sources of personal origin, or reference books and encyclopedias. In the discussion, the author provides information about the development of wrestling on the territory of the region. The names of famous athletes and coaches are given. Based on the results of the study, the author came to the conclusion that it was the personality of Ivan Yarygin that made this sport super popular on the territory of the Krasnoyarsk Region and that it was the Krasnoyarsk Region that was associated with this summer sport outside its borders. The development of wrestling in the postwar period showed the growth of this sport, new athletes and new coaches appeared, by the end of the Soviet period, wrestling had reached a completely different level.
