History of development of hydrobotany in Russia

The historical sketch of a science since expeditions of the first Russian botanists of the end of XVIII century and the first review, the most significant works on studying of water plants and vegetation, the international cooperation before fundamental and applied achievements of modern hydrobotany is given here. The description of five historical periods which are defined on prevalence of directions of researches is resulted, are connected with an exit of basic proceedings and the events which have the important role for development of science.
