The history of development and the scopes for reconstructive endoprosthetics at FSI RISC RTO

Both the history of development and the features of financing the method of endoprosthetics at FSI RISC "RTO" are presented in the work, as well as the experience of performing more than 2700 procedures of large joint implantations is generalized. The developed at the Centre unique techniques of combining transosseous osteosynthesis with the Ilizarov fixator and endoprosthetics in complicated clinical cases are given. The effectiveness of endoprosthetics has been studied within the period of 2-10 years after surgeries. Excellent and good long-term results amounted to 89.5 %, fair - 5.3 %, unsatisfactory - 5.2 % of cases. High effectiveness of the method became possible owing to great organizational activity on introduction and development of large joint endoprosthetics at FSI RISC "RTO", regular training and improvement of surgeons' and nurses' qualification, thorough preoperative planning with preparing possible variants of osteosynthesis in difficult cases, surgeon's sufficient experience and proper postoperative rehabilitation, directed to muscle function recovery, perfect mutual understanding with patients, scrupulous analysis of errors and complications.
