The article examines the history of the origin of money and its evolution. During which, depending on the requirements imposed on them, money took various forms, goods, precious metal bars, coins, banknotes, electronic money, cryptocurrencies. The appearance of money from metal and the attribution of its issue to the competence of the state is a prerequisite for classifying money as objects of civil rights. One of the problems of the modern monetary system is inflation. In the past, this phenomenon was combated by introducing a gold standard, which is impossible in modern times due to the limited physical reserves of gold. One of the possible ways to solve this problem is to use cryptocurrency.
