Historical and demographic researches at the Institute of Language, Literature and History, Komi Science Centre, Ural Branch, RAS

Тhe main directions of historical and demographic research carried out at the Institute of Language, Literature and History, Komi Science Centre, Ural Branch, RAS, are discussed. Archaeologists study the history of population formation, settling and development of the territory of the Komi Republic in ancient times and the Middle Ages, historical research deals with the study of population dynamics, migration, ethno-demographic development and urbanization processes. The institute is conducting a lot of scientific and organizational work. Since 2005, all-Russian and international scientific forums on historical demography have been regularly held. To intensify the process of publishing the results of scientific research, a special scientific journal “Historical Demography” is published annually since 2008. The authors of the papers in the journal are scientists from the Russian Federation and abroad.
