Historical and ethnographic aspects of the Yakuts' national dance development

The article deals with such a phenomenon of the ethnic culture of Yakuts as a round dance - Osuokhay, which has remained as a part of ceremonial complex of Ysyakh fertility cult associated with the worship of the heavenly deities Aiyy. It is emphasized that in the XX century the dance folklore of Yakuts was used widely in theatrical productions, cultural republican events, which has led to the stage way of the dance performance. The author concludes that in the context of globalization, it is important to keep and develop the national dance traditions and form the new mechanisms of folk knowledge conveying and its modernization.
