Historical and cultural development of women's corset

This article considers the history of the female corset, his appearance, changing form and purpose in the time period from ancient Greece to the present day. Trace the changing shape of the corset in connection with the change of fashion, which, in turn, influence the development of science technology, medicine, aesthetic representation of the society. Also refer to modern society, namely, to the place of the corset in the wardrobe of the modern urban women. In the end it is concluded that for many thousands of years, the corset had a similar basic function to modify the female figure in accordance with the notions of the ideal. The corset, as a cultural phenomenon, disappeared from the world of fashion and everyday life in crisis turning points of life.
