Historical-cultural foundations of mentoring

The article is devoted to the study of the historical and cultural foundations of the phenomenon of mentoring. The paper considers the historical stages of formation and evolution of this phenomenon; analyses its cultural manifestations in different eras and socio-cultural contexts. The aim of the study is to identify universal patterns and features of mentoring as a socio-cultural phenomenon, as well as to clarify the concept of mentoring itself through the method of analysis and generalisation.
