Historical and cultural complex «Island-town of Sviyazhsk» as a tourist destination of the Republic of Tatarstan

His article discusses the features of organization and rendering the historical and cultural tourism services through the example of historical and cultural complex «Island-town of Sviyazhsk». Currently historical and cultural tourism is one of the most popular types of tourism, including a visiting the geographical, historical and cultural attractions. Historical and cultural tourism in the Republic of Tatarstan is one of the most promising types of tourism development. Services of historical and cultural tourism, provided by the historical and cultural complex «Island-town of Sviyazhsk», include excursions, weekend tours, interactive activities, folk festivals, exhibitions, etc. To save and improve the efficiency of de- velopment of historical and cultural complex «Island-town of Sviyazhsk», the maintenance of demand for historical and cultural tourism, it is advisable to use all existing in domestic and foreign practice organizational and economic mecha- nisms. The most important of these mechanisms are: 1) interaction with Federal authorities in sphere of protection and use of historical and cultural heritage; 2) allocation of preservation of historical and cultural heritage as a separate financial statement item within the economic planning; 3) development of international and regional cooperation in the field of preservation of historical and cultural heritage; 4) scientific research in the field of identification and protection of historical and cultural heritage; 5) town planning regulation of activities on island of Sviyazhsk, etc.
