Historical and legal characteristics of the status of the prosecutor in pre-trial procedure

The article aims to examine the historical aspect of the development of the status of a prosecutor in pre-trial proceedings. The author analyzes the legislation of specific historical stages. Particular attention is given to the Statute of Criminal Procedure as a document that first established the supervisory function in the criminal proceedings for the prosecutor. As a result of the research, the author comes to the conclusion that the history of the formation and development of prosecutor's supervision over the execution of laws by preliminary investigation bodies in their criminal procedural activity is a complex, multi-stage process.
