Historical and legal preconditions of formation and the stages of the development of the legal status of Yerevan city

The article is devoted to the historical and legal preconditions for the formation of the right Yerevan city status. The first document establishes the legal status of Yerevan, the author calls cuneiform Erebuni Fortress. According to G. Tiratsyana, Yerevan was the center of one of the administrative-territorial units in the Iranian Achaemenid period. The works of a number of historiographers allow the author to assert that in the 7th century as a result of the approval of the domination of the Arab Caliphate, the legal status of the city Yerevan has changed significantly. After the 12th century the city acquired the status of Yerevan, driven by a council of elders.
