The historical-typological description of the Russian scientific periodicals of the XVIII century

The article describes historical and typological aspects of the first scientific periodicals in Russia, the appearance of which was associated with the rise of the Russian fundamental science in the era of Peter the Great and was determined by the need for communication between scientists and dissemination of academic knowledge. It is concluded that in the aforesaid period there were laid foundations of the modern genres of scientific publications, namely: an ongoing collection of scientific works, a periodical collection of abstracts, a popular science journal and a scholarly (academic and research) journal.
