On a single voting day on September 11, 2022, the Far Eastern Federal District elected the Head of the Republic of Buryatia, deputies of the Sakhalin Regional Duma; the Duma of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky; the Duma of Vladivostok. The elections were held against the background of a special military operation in Ukraine, which indirectly affected the course of the election campaign. Based on the analysis of electoral data and the peculiarities of the electoral process, we have characterized the influence of a special military operation in Ukraine on the voting results. In general, the election campaign was relatively quiet. Voter turnout decreased slightly. In the Republic of Buryatia, the current head A. S. Tsydenov supported by the ruling party won by a landslide. In Sakhalin Oblast the party in power also managed to achieve high results, but the splitting of the opposition became much more valuable for it. The number of opposition forces has increased, but at the same time their size has reduced. Changes in the principles of formation of the municipal legislatures in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Vladivostok also led to a reduction in political opposition forces, and made them more controllable. So, it should be noted that the elections held in the midst of special military operation in Ukraine significantly strengthened the potential of the party in power and weakened the political opposition in the Far East.
