Results and perspectives of the archeological research of Bolshoi Altai in the context of development of the international programs for preserving and studying of the Eurasian cultural heritage

The article presents the brief historical survey of the archaeological research of Great Altai and demonstrates a key role of the Russian (Soviet) archeological school in that area of studies. The author undertakes the examination of the periods of the archaeological adaptation in Sayan-Altai region, explores significant works and researchers. The work additionally reviews modern research programs for the Sayan and Altai studies. The author provides particular attention to international programs of the Pazyiryik studies under the leadership of corresponding member of Russian Academy of Science N. V. Polos'mak and program of the studying of the first appearance of the human in the North Asia under the leadership of member of Russian Academy of Science A. P. Derevyanko. Author contends that the territory of Gornyi Altai is exposed to increasing anthropogenic influences. As the result there is strongly paramount necessity in salvage and protection operations. Author concludes that these challenges could be overcome by organizing the federal service of the protection and studying of the archaeological heritage and on the way of improvement of federal and regional laws in Russian Federation.
