The outcomes and outlooks of neurosurgery development at RISC "RTO"

The scientific researchers of the laboratory of clinical vertebrology and neurosurgery and the doctors of the neurosurgery department of Federal State Science Institution «The Russian Ilizarov Scientific Centre "Restorative traumatology and orthopaedics"» of Russian health service have been studying the problems of the external fixator use for different pathologies of the spine, spinal cord and brain for 14 years. As a result of the studies made the indications for transosseous osteosynthesis method use for treatment of injuries and diseases of the spine and spinal cord have been defined more exactly, and the techniques for correction the deformities of the spine and its stabilization have been proposed. The results of treatment of patients with ischemic involvements of the brain confirming the effectiveness of new method of treatment have been obtained and analysed.
