The results of the elections in 2016 as a reflection of socio-political development of Russian regions

The article analyzes the results of the elections to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and regional governments in 2016 in comparison with the results of studies conducted by the authors in the regions of Russia in 2013-2015. The authors show that the elections demonstrated a number of characteristic for the Russian political culture phenomena, which had been previously observed only in the course of regional studies. The analysis concludes that the emerging political system is quite adequate to actually existing situation, even if it seems not very democratic and progressive.
