Overall results of the Russian national canoe sprint team at the games of the XXXI Olympiad in Rio de Janeiro 2016

The article presents the results of canoe sprint event at the XXXI Olympic Games. Despite the disqualification of some top athletes, the world canoe leaders confirmed their high level, coming atop the standings. A total of 12 sets of medals were awarded: six in individual races and six in team ones. The Russia’s national team took the sixteenth place. The changes in the program schedule allowed the top sprint canoeists to compete both in single and team races. This helped the athletes of some national teams surprisingly impose struggle with teams previously regarded as leaders.
