IV International glacial archaeology symposium

The article reviews presentations of the participants of the IVth International Glacial Archaeology Symposium that took place in October, 2016 in Innsbruck (Austria). The symposium was devoted to discussing the methods and results of research on various archaeological sites found in the glaciation areas. The work was divided into five consistently thematic sessions: Session 1 - Glacial Archaeology: Findings and Objects, Methods, Research and Analysis; Session 2 - Climate change: the climate in the past and present, auxiliary data, methods and results; Session 3 - Frozen sites - multidisciplinary approaches; Session 4 - Conservation and preservation - issues and development; Session 5 - the Frozen Past: Ecology and Ethnography of Archaeological objects of the Glacier Areas. The next, the Vth International Symposium on Glacial Archaeology, will be held in 2018, in Anchorage (USA).
