The historical writer Ivan Sozontovitch Lukash (1892-1940) fought in the White army, emigrated to Constantinople and after moving to many different countries finally settled down in Paris. He has been co-author with V. V. Nabokov and has served as prototype character of the writer S. Bubnov in Nabokov»s novel «The Heroical action». This article presents newest data about Lukash» historical hero the merchant Zhrebin. Lukash is the last classical writer of Russian literature as he has proved, though a long period of oblivion, to be lasting through time and has been recognized as such by his famous pen colleagues, I. S. Shmelev, А. I. Кuprin, V. Chodasevitch, B. K. Zajtsev, А. N. Tolstoj, G. Struve.
