The article examines the history of the creation and activities of the Committee for Assistance to Russian Military Disabled Persons in San Francisco. Special attention is paid to the organization of “Royal Contests”. Participants in this competition competed against each other to collect the most donations and the title of Queen and Princess of the Disabled Ball.
